Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 67683
Can't paste from clipboard after copying from certain programs
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
Steps to reproduce: Select and copy text in Forte Agent (newsreader). Attempt to paste into OOo Writer. What happens: Nothing. The text does not paste, either with Ctrl-V or via the Edit menu. In the Edit menu, both the Paste and the Paste Special options are greyed out. What should happen: Text should paste. Comment 1: If the text is pasted into TextPad (text editor) and re-copied there, it then pastes normally into Writer. Comment 2: The text can be dragged-and-dropped from Agent into Writer. Comment 3: Similar behaviour has been reported with other software in the OpenOffice forum, e.g. http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=16944
Reassigned to ES.
Further to above report: Comment 4: If the application from which the text was copied is closed before pasting, paste into Writer works normally.
Changed priority.
Any chance you could do the following next time you hit the problem: click Start, Run, type "clipbrd.exe", OK, then in Clipbook Viewer click File, Save As, type in the name of the file and attach the file to this issue?
Created attachment 38293 [details] Zipped clipboard files
Attachment contains two files created as follows: Copy text from Forte Agent to clipboard, run clipbrd.exe, save as agent_open.CLP. Copy text from Forte Agent to clipboard, close Agent, run clipbrd.exe, save as agent_closed.CLP Both files in zipped archive.
ES->AMA: as derscribed. clpbrd.exe from Windows shows at least plain text. But the clipboard is not activated in OOo.
This problem has been reported on the OOo Community forum http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?p=120145#p120145 when copying from Firefox 3.6 RC1 to OOo 3.1.1 on Windows 7. I see the same problem on Vista. The paste options remain grayed out in OOo 3.1.1 until Firefox is closed. After Firefox closes, the content can be pasted in OOo 3.1.1. Paste works normally in other applications (WordPad, Notepad++) without closing Firefox.
