Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 50773
Create a document container ala Microsoft Binder
Last modified: 2013-10-26 07:27:46 UTC
As a project manager, I find Microsoft Office Binder to be one of the best productivity tools offered by MS Office. It allows me to navigate between a dozen documents, presentations or spreadsheets quickly and efficiently. It contains the spread of numerous files and folders by holding all the documentation for a project in a single source. Developing container functionality for OO, now that MS has dropped it, would be a big win.
Hi cburland, thanks for using and supporting OpenOffice.org... I assign this issue to requirements who is responsible for such suggestions...
Please, I would really like this to have a higher priority than P3.

Sending a bundle of files to someone else without the need to zip and to unzip with a different utility. Tabs are more convenient than different windows, so it should resemble the FF tabs or those of a spreadsheet. Some discussion is here: http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=53696
Hello Perhaps this thread has not been more popular is because "Binder" is not a well known feature among the OpenOffice User Community. The only way that I got here from a Link given to me by Hagar Delest a Moderator on the OO Forum. I had been having a discussion with Haga when he directed me here. I have included a Link to that discussion here so that you can see what I was looking for and the Binder Feature is a part of that. http://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=65268#p289733 I would really like to see this featured added to OpenOffice. Thanks! Doug
