Description macuser_winpgmr 2005-05-15 22:45:34 UTC
In Access, it's common to run a query interactively or via Automation, then use
Select All and Copy to copy the query result table to the clipboard. This table
can then be pasted into Excel or Word.

In Base, Copy only appears to copy the contents of one cell to the clipboard.
This can't be right. Even after selecting multiple rows in the result table,
copy only puts a single value on the clipboard.
Comment 1 Frank Schönheit 2005-05-17 14:45:33 UTC
confirming, targeting, grabbing.

Edit|Copy in the table/query data view currently copies the content of the
active cell only, instead of the selected row(s), which would be much more
expectation conformant.

Workaround:
Drag'n'Drop the row(s)

Comment 3 Frank Schönheit 2005-08-26 14:40:33 UTC
attached file is an incomplete patch, which adds the "Copy" functionality. Also,
a "Copy" entry is added to the row context menu.
What's not yet working:
- the current selection is ignored ATM, it's always the whole table/query which
is copied
- do we need paste handling as well?

The entire query result can by copied using this method: before running query
click right click the query you want and click 'copy'; then go to calc and
paste. this gives you the whole table/query results.

I'm not sure this works for everything, but i've done it a few times. It's
counter-intuitive so i think we need something closer to what access has.
