Last modified: 2018-08-04 16:35:59 UTC
Future steps: Save a OpenDocument document, add a signatur, export PDF Is it possible?
Hi, I will set this as enhancement, as far as I remember the iTeam for Security and Signing has discussed this earlier. Let's this Issue use as task for it. @Frank Assigned to you to get it into the future tasks. Frank
I would like to export digitally signed PDF documents too. Please, when will this be available?

Yes, I too strongly support this issue! Hopefully there will be an implention soon.
More then 2 years have passed... Don't think this will ever be implemented.
To me, it would be two different things, signing the text document and the PDF document. Signature on the PDF document should be an option on the Export PDF dialog.
it will get implemented, when more votes are there ;) maybe it get done within the pdf-import which is announced for version 3.0?

The future of signing PDF would be extremely useful, it is a pity, that has not been implemented yet.
As PDF/A (Standard for ong-term backup/archival, see also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PDF/A) will be possible with OOo 3.0, there should be the possibility to sign PDF's with a digital certificate. Regardless if paid certificates or free (i.e. cacert.org) certificates, or signed with OpenPGP. This security/authentication feature could stronly boost the usage of OOo within the target groups of SME's (Small-Midsize Enterprise) and privat users, as they need more and more digitally signed documents, as PDF's, in order to comunicate with authorities as well.
http://jsignpdf.sourceforge.net/ - JSignPdf is a Java application which adds digital signatures to PDF documents. It can be used as a standalone application or as an Add-On in OpenOffice.org.

OK, now my 5cents for this: I'm the author of PortableSigner (http://portablesigner.sf.net/), a program for digital signatures for PDF files. This program can work in GUI (Swing) and batch mode. I've written a small Starbasic Macro, which integrates OpenOffice with my product. The only thing I would need, is someone, who makes an OXT out of the script together with the binding to a menu and a button. All my sourcecode is under LGPL! :peter pfläging

Hi, the portablesigner "only" takes as pkcs12 Certifcate. so it is not secure enough for the german legal, which want's qualified certificate's create on smartcard's. There does exist a program called secsigner https://www.seccommerce.de/de/produkte/webcontrust/secsigner/secsigner.html which works also in an english version. This java code can also handle the smartcard's. best regards thomas
