Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 47519
Shadow color always black
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:21:02 UTC
Open a new presentation. Background set to black Add text with shadow. Shadow not visible because the color of shadow is not selectable. Presentions imported from Powerpoint are shown without shadow. Add option to select shadowcolor
Reproducible. Changed to defect.
Reassigned.
This is no regression as we had this behaviour in draw and impress since the time beeing, so I retarget to OOo later. Also vcl currently only supports black and light grey shadow color, depending on the backgrounds luminance. To add this feature (oh I also changed issue type to feature) we would need new ui, new core and a file format enhancement. And we need this for all 5 applications. @CL->FL: Please provide UI spec. as soon as this has a priority. I-Team should consist of ui developers from the different applications and also mib to enhance the file format.

Assigned to correct owner requirements.
This has been a design DEFECT (not a feature enhancement) since before 2004. There have been multiple reports of this and similarly related design deficiency: 32257, 34516, 36144, 37147, 47519 (this report), 51710. There should be a single UI across all OOo applications controlling all font attributes including the control of the font shadow (color, depth, angle).

I want it fixed in Writer, rather than Impress, but hought I'd vote here anyway.
