Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 44367
Picture disappears when inserted by copy/paste
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:41:36 UTC
When a picture is inserted and copied/pasted several times, some picts can disappear if you delete one of them. 1. Create Doc - Create a new writer document - Insert a picture (here, apple.gif) - Copy/Paste several times - Save and close. 2. Bug - Re-Open document - DON'T BROWSE the document - Delete a pict on top - Browse down => some picts are shown as "Read Error" (with a broken picture icon) 2. No Bug - Re-Open document - Browse down all your doc - Delete a pict on top - All is ok I reproduced this bug on several WinXP Computers. (sorry for my english...)

ES->OD: all pictures which are not shown directly when opening the document will have this read error after deleting the first picture: layout problem?
cause of the defect: the picture file is only include once in the Writer document - it's shared between all the inserted picuture objects. But on delete of one of these picture objects, the picuture file is deleted from the Writer document. Thus, it can't be loaded any more and the other picture objects shows the "Read Error" icon.
as it can produce loss of datas this issue should be seen as stopper and targeted to 2.0 Laurent
