Description vandan 2004-06-22 04:32:59 UTC
While upgrading our office from OpenOffice-1.1.1 to OpenOffice-1.1.2 I've
noticed that the dictionary installer ( File ==> Autopilot ==> Install New
Dictionaries ) no longer works.

Instead of opening up the dictionary installer, it opens a new word processing
document, and inserts a string containing the path to the user's "My Documents"
folder and DocOOo-1.3.2.sxw ( or something like that the dictionary installer,
anyway ). In *some* cases, I can copy this string, click the 'Open File' button,
paste the string in the Open File Dialog that appears, and the Dictionary
Installer opens. ***HOWEVER*** this is because on some computers I have
previously downloaded the dictionary installer ( during a previous install ) and
it had been saved there.

Sorry if I picked the wrong component :) This is the best match I could see.

I think it's your playground, Laurent. Please have a look.

Following up on the original bug, it appears this issue still exists in OOo-1.1.3.

Also ( and I'm not sure if this is a different bug or not ), OOo-1.9.56 ( under
Windows 2000 ) doesn't do *anything* at all when I select File ==> Wizards ==>
Install New Dictionaries. This *could* be because on the system I've installed
OOo-1.9.56 on, I've never used the dictionary installer before ( see my original
bug report for behaviour on various systems ).

For your information:

>> OOo-1.9.56 ( under
>> Windows 2000 ) doesn't do *anything* at all when I select File ==> Wizards ==>
>> Install New Dictionaries.

This is a seperate issue. The dictionary wizard in 19M56 was never working, if i
remember correctly.

Apart from that, does your problem still exist with version 1.1.4rc?

I just installed OOo-1.1.4 on a number of PCs, and had mixed results.
On all PCs, the dictionary installer detected that there was a more recent
version of itself available, and attempted to download the newer version.

All PCs then failed to run the new version, with a bug along the lines of "an
error has occured while updating".

All PCs updated correctly if I manually opened & ran the installation wizard
from where it had been downloaded.

Given no activity on this issue in 10+ months, and that the dictionary installer
works in 2.0.1RC2, I am closing as fixed.
