Created attachment 15967 [details] Tamil Translations(Complete)
Hello, Sorry for the spelling mistake - Mr. Neil is Mr. Nils Fuhrmann, one of the Localization leads. The Tamil gsi file had been sent to him after submission of the Hindi gsi file (early 2002 - as per Dieter's request). The Hindi has gotten incorporated into the source, but not Tamil. Hence we wish to submit this patch also to get the language incorporated into the latest builds. We will also be attaching source diffs. Details for Tamil are Language Identifier : 92 ISO-Code : ta-IN Language string : "tamil" Locale ID : 0x0449 Decimal Equivalent : 1097 Thanks, Shikha
Don't know who pavel is, but pjanik is the right person for this, probably ;-) Accepting. I don't think we will work on integration to 1.x branch, but I'd like to work with you on integration to 2.x development branch.
I added link to this issue to my list of languages (http://tmp.janik.cz/OpenOffice.org/Languages/OpenOffice.org-Languages.html). Set target to 2.0.
.
naresh: the attached file only contains translations for 1.1.x. This issue is targeted to 2.0. Please provide patches to integrate Tamil languages to the sources and only after that, provide the translation.
Hi Naresh, we are coming closer towards 2.0. Could you let us know, whether you are working on this issue? Thanks, Stefan
Hi Stefan and Pavel, Thanks for the update. Yes, we are working on this, and will let you know the status in two days. We will be providing the patches to integrate the translations with the source, for 2.0. However, for the translations, we may require some more time, to see what's missing w.r.t the 1.1.x translations that we've provided. Can the current set of translations be used for 2.0? Shikha

Translation can be reused, of course. It depends on the method of translation you use. But lets discuss in dev@l10n, not in the issue.
retarget.
What is the status? Can you please work on 2.0 code so we can merge your language into 2.0.1 or 2.0.2?
We have completed 1.1.4 and we are working on 2.0 translations. We will keep you updated. thanks, Vijay KUmar
Is your work on 2.0 making progress?
The current version of the Tamil localisation for version M156 GSI files for tamil is available in this URL: http://developer.thamizha.com/openoffice/GSI-m156-ta-IN.sdf.tar.bz2 We want the current translations to be included in the OO source. Since we are continously working on OO Tamil localisations to make it complete by taking help of tamil openoffice users. Later we will upgrade the translations.
mugunth: so keep this issue and follow dev@l10n mailing list. The deadline for OOo 2.0.3 translations will be announced there and the guide to file issues to responsible person.
Then please allow me to change the type of the issue to ENHANCEMENT as we are no longer plan to integrate the attached patch.
