Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 19386
Auto-fill entries
Last modified: 2003-09-10 14:12:43 UTC
I hope I categorized this issue right (I do now know if such a suggestion should be files as "feature" or as "enhancement"): Let me describe the situation: I write "1", "2" and "3" in three cells (in column "B") right below each other, than I select (mark) those three cells. Then I drag the little right box down for about 20 cells and get a nice list of numbers from 1 to 23. Then I start the same in the next column ("C"), type "1","2","3". In M$excel, I would now just have to make a double-click on the little box to fill down all the cells until the first empty cell in Column "B" is reached. In OO, I have to drag down manually again. This sounds not very important, but if you work with spreadheets containing 100 columns and thousands of rows, this Excel-feature becomes very important, especially on fast computers, where you quickly miss the end of your table in scrolling! In Excel I can also just correct a wrong entry in the first cell of a column and make a double-click on this little box and all equations in the cell below get automatically updated until the bottom of the table. Just a suggestion for 1.2 or 2.0 Ciao, thomas.
