Description dionne 2014-04-11 17:55:33 UTC
When I open writer, I keep getting a message that says, "The last time you opened OpenOffice, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again?" There are two options to "Don't Reopen" or "Reopem". I try to click on them, but they won't respond.
I tried re-installing Open Office on my Mac but the problem won't go away.

Please let me know what I can do to solve this problem?

Thanks!

Duplicated of Bug 119006
Bug known since 3.4, http://www.openoffice.org/development/releases/3.4.1.html#AOO3.4.1ReleaseNotes-KnownIssues

On recent versions of Mac OS X it might happen, especially after a "Force quit", that the following error message appears: "Restore Windows - The application OpenOffice.org was forced to quit while trying to restore its windows. Do you want to try to restore its windows again?". If you cannot get rid of it: Option-click the "Go" menu; choose "Library" from the menu to open the folder in the Finder; click on the folder "Saved Application State"; delete the file "org.openoffice.script.savedState". See bug 119006 for more information.

quite strange, the "Saved Application State" folder should be there inside "Library", see this picture https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/download/file.php?id=14778&mode=view

May be the folder doesn't appear if you search it, recall that it is a hidden folder.

Please pay attention to the step by step in https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=55755&p=258965#p244931

- Open Finder
- Select the "Go" menu item
- While the menu "Go" menu is open, press the Control key: when you hold down the Control key, you can see that Library menu item is added to the menu, right after the Home menu item
- select the Library menu item and the Library will open in Finder
