Pop up box that will not go away no matter what I click

I had to manually restart my Macbook Pro and when I did, OpenOffice was open. So when the computer restarted, the OpenOffice pop up box saying "The last time you opened OpenOffice.org, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again?" When I click the button "reopen," OpenOffice does nothing. When I click the button "Don't Reopen" OpenOffice does nothing. At first it was just a work around because I could still open blank documents, but I soon realized that I could not save, save as, print, or any other function that requires a pop up window since there is already a pop up window that cannot be closed (since there are no manual buttons in the top left corner of the window). Also I cannot exit OpenOffice by right clicking the icon on my dock and clicking the option close. I have to go in the "Force Quit Applications" and force quit OpenOffice. I am in college and I need a word processor that I can rely on, please help.

I have the same problem with my MacBook Pro. This pop up window has no close tabs at the top left. It asks me to press either 'don't reopen' or 'Reopen'.
Neither works.
The only way I can close Open Office is to 'Force Quit' the application.
I see that others have the same problem.
The entire OpenOffice programme has effectively been neutered. The pop up window cannot be closed and neither can the programme.
Can anyone help with this?

Yes.

This looks like a duplicate of bug 119006 at the text on attachment 79996 [details] is the same as specified here:

See http://www.openoffice.org/development/releases/3.4.1.html#AOO3.4.1ReleaseNotes-KnownIssues

On recent versions of Mac OS X it might happen, especially after a "Force quit", that the following error message appears: "Restore Windows - The application OpenOffice.org was forced to quit while trying to restore its windows. Do you want to try to restore its windows again?". If you cannot get rid of it: Option-click the "Go" menu; choose "Library" from the menu to open the folder in the Finder; click on the folder "Saved Application State"; delete the file "org.openoffice.script.savedState". See bug 119006 for more information.

Did you try the advice given in the 3.4.1 release notes and in bug 119006 ?
