Description 123 2012-09-10 03:26:48 UTC
Open Office crashes on the Mac OSX Lion version 10.7
I am unable to open the program, and receive a popup, prompting me to select one of two options: "ignore window", "restore window". Neither option works and the popup persists. When will this be fixed.

I am running Mac Lion 10.7.4

Error causes Libre Office to crash as well. Neither open office, nor Library office will work.

Screen capture of the "Restore Windows" bug that has permanently locked AOO

I, too, am having this same issue and have no clue how it came about. (and I have no clue about recreating the steps to get to this point, either!)
I am running Mac OSX 10.7.5.
I've deleted and reinstalled AOO with no changes. I still get the pop-up up of "Don't Restore Windows" and "Restore Windows" upon the opening of the program and can not complete a Command-Q function to close it, so therefore, I have to go to the Force Quit to close out the program.
I am including a screen cap for reference.

Using Mac OS 10.4.11

Can't close Open Office or open it, though it appears to be open on dashboard. When I try to use it I get error code 1712.

The problem arose when I was trying to change/resize a photograph and I was also trying to save versions of it in black and white and GREYSCALE. Some of these I have but then it ceased to function at all.

It is version Open Office.org 3.0.0 [300m6(Build:9352)]

It does not respond to 'force quit'.

I'm experiencing the "Don't Restore Windows" "Restore Windows" pop up window as well that is unresponsive and won't let me open existing documents. This started when I first opened the program today. The last time I used the program (it was operating normally) was on Friday December 13, 2013. I'm on Mac OS X 10.7.5

I'm on mac osx 10.9.1 and having the same "restore window" bug.
Comment 7 Bernice Grundy 2014-01-03 12:12:32 UTC
Open Office is now functioning and I can open and close it. This has happened without any intervention from me. The only unusual thing that has happened is that we have had several power cuts so I have had to restart the computer each time. Could this be the reason? Perhaps someone else would like to try it!

I am having the same problem with the frozen error message. This occured following a short power outage. I shut down the computer, and I have reinstalled the program. I still cannot get into the program. I am using OS X Version 10.9.1

I believe this is the same problem reported in issue 119006

If so, this issue should be closed: RESOLVED/DUPLICATE

Thank you Joe Smith.

Bug known since 3.4, http://www.openoffice.org/development/releases/3.4.1.html#AOO3.4.1ReleaseNotes-KnownIssues

On recent versions of Mac OS X it might happen, especially after a "Force quit", that the following error message appears: "Restore Windows - The application OpenOffice.org was forced to quit while trying to restore its windows. Do you want to try to restore its windows again?". If you cannot get rid of it: Option-click the "Go" menu; choose "Library" from the menu to open the folder in the Finder; click on the folder "Saved Application State"; delete the file "org.openoffice.script.savedState". See bug 119006 for more information.
