Issue 112867 describes a deadlock that at least often hangs the smoketest step
on <http://termite.services.openoffice.org/buildbot/builders/Windows-2003>. 
According to cd, a true fix would be a lot of work, so I am going to work around
this problem for now, by shifting relevant work to the OOo main thread in
smoketestoo_native/smoketest.cxx.
