Whenever OOo is the active application, none of the media keys work, and thus I
cannot mute sound or adjust volume when in any OOo program, I have to Alt-Tab
out to change the volume.

Surely not a P2 issue. Just a simple workaround. May be it's just a driver problem.

Same issue for me.
Using OOo 3.2.0 on WinXP Pro, play/pause, next, prev, stop don't work when any
OOo application has focus.
