Description
I was trying to run the precommit test on my mac under JDK8, and I got the following error related to javadocs.
"(use of '_' as an identifier might not be supported in releases after Java SE 8)"
It looks like we need to at least change the method name to not be '_' any more, or possibly replace the HTML generation with something more standard.
