Add hbase.version to the property keys that allows setting the version based on the official Apache archives.
[HBase] Extract strings to a HBaseServiceConstants interface
Support multiple versions of Hadoop
First part of the patch, adds setting the version in the scripts. Next is simply adding this to the handlers to hand it in.
This patch (unfortunately) relies on WHIRR-206 to be first applied. Sorry for the mixup.
This patch includes the previous.
Redo after WHIRR-206 changes.
Why does the version number include the "-bin" suffix? E.g. "0.89.20100924-bin". Maybe separate out the version and the URL like Cassandra does?
The reason is that HBase 0.20.6 does not use the postfix. I'll check what Cassandra does, but for now it is simply the missing part of
and since 0.89 now uses "-bin" etc. suffixes I needed to put it somewhere else.
Hmm, so Cassandra uses the full tarball URL as an override? Can do that as well. I was following the Hadoop service and how it uses the version. But I also though about why the URL is fixed and not part of the params. Let me change this once more.
Cancelling to redo the version vs. tarball URL location.
I have this working now, just need to get a patch together.
WHIRR-186-v3.patch adds the whirr-hbase-defaults.properties.
+1 looks good
I just committed this.
