Description
the default behavior for vmware based images are to run in non-persistent mode. This makes sense for short-term student use as it consumes less disk space and is quicker to start. Unfortunately for long-term reservations this does not apply very well. If a reboot, power-outage or something else goes wrong. Any changes in the vm based long-term reservation are gone.
Somehow we will need to detect that the reservation is a long-term reservation and the vm needs to be persistent mode.
