    Description

      Hi,

I would like to submit my logo proposal.

Since TomEE is an entreprise stack largely built around the Tomcat server, I decided to upgrade the well-known cat logo to a more "versatile" feline shape. Usually entreprise editions come with more upgrades and tools than the community packages, so the logo needed to reflect more profesionalism, versatility and mainly more power.

Everything used to create the logo is open sourced itself, so no licensing problems should arise in the future.
The used font is Orbitron, and it's even in Google's Web Font service, so you can easily use it for the Web page without complicated Cufon files: http://www.google.com/webfonts/specimen/Orbitron

The logo has been created in Photoshop CS 6 with vector shapes. So it can easily be ported to Illustrator as well. All layers are organized in groups and are labeled properly. Rendering color variations is also extremely easy since it relies on a Hue/Saturation mask.

      Thank you,
      Catalin Cimpanu

      Later edit:
Added a newer refined version. (Difference between the 2 versions is just a placement of tiles)
