<tc:selectReference> not working

    Description

      This seems to be broken since TOBAGO-1362.

      The basic functionality is the same like the new group feature of JSF 2.3, but the syntax is different, so we need to define the next steps here:
      a) using tc:selectReference without "group" support
      b) deprecating tc:selectReference and using "group"
      c) supporting both
