Black & White logo versions. Color will be added after the design has been selected. These are just the beginnings of the logos, I like to take feedback from people and change the logo to their likings. So please by all means rip them apart!

Rip them apart, eh? Heh. Well, i'll try. Though others around here can probably do a better job.

#1 - Looks more like "Exen" Color might help set the T out. Nice and compact, though i can't figure out why some things are there, like the little "tooth" on the T. This is probably my least favorite in B/W, but i can imagine potential in color.

#2 - My wife preferred this one (i always like her feedback on aesthetic decisions), though she would prefer a more internally consistent font. She also didn't think the 'n' on the end should connect to the underline. As for myself, i don't like the way the T sticks out so far to the left. I personally like the e's and the x. Color again, could add a lot.

#3 - I think this is my favorite at this point, though i struggle to articulate why. I'm also least sure how to rip this one apart.

Anyone else got feedback on this? If so, sooner is better, as this is a GHOP contest issue and there is a time limit for the task (only loosely enforced, of course .

Here is Version 4, there are 5 subversions and 3 version per subversion, I couldn't decide what ones to submit so here are all of them! When commenting please say what the subversion is followed by option 1, 2 etc... This version also includes an icon for Texen, that is only appearing on version 4. But it is for your use anywhere if you guys want it.

Ok, so far i prefer the blue versions for all of them, as most Velocity subprojects have blue-based logos.

My favorite (by a hair) would be for Logos 4.3 and 4.4, particularly the versions with the 't' icon straight up and down and the 'X' in black. I do really like the idea of having an icon as well as a logo, though i don't know what we'd use it for. I guess we may be able to use it as a favicon?

Logo 5.3 and 5.4 are also great. To decide between version 5.3 or version 5.4 of it is a little hard without having a PNG that i can insert on the Texen website and see alongside the other colors.

I'll upload PNG versions of 4.3, 4.4, 5.3 and 5.4 when I get back from work. The color used on version 4.3 and version 5.3 is the same that appears on the Apache Texen website. The other colors have been taken from the Apache logo, other than the blue.

I wasn't sure how I liked the angled "T" on the icon, I think we should keep it horizontal. Would you still like to look at versions 1-3 in full color? or just go with version 4 or 5?

Thanks for the PNG versions. Unfortunately, i still can't make up my mind between these four. They're all great. Which do you prefer? Since no one else is chiming in with opinions and i'm indecisive, it looks like it may be up to you to choose the final one. This is, after all, your task to complete. I say pick your favorite of these last four, and we'll call it good, unless someone else out there has some helpful feedback to throw into the mix.

I guess we will go with the first one, I asked a few people which one they liked and that got the overall vote. I will upload the vector files and all that jazz when I get home from work.
