Description

Patch by Madan U Sreenivasan <madan_at_collab.net>.  This patch refactors the
test code for locking a path and validating the contents of the lock.  A few
changes were made to the original patch, based on suggestions from lundblad, but
there were no responses to the latest version of the patch.
