Description
The config details for punching your way through a proxy need to be easily or automatically switchable based on the location of the client, in order to support mobile clients. For example, at work I might access http://svn.collab.net/ through a proxy, because my employer has that set up. From home, I would access http:// svn.collab.net/ without a proxy, 'cause I'm too lazy to do that for my home computer, and anyway I like NATs better. Both accesses are via the same URL, so the present switching keyed off the URL doesn't help. How it *should* be switched is not so obvious. Could be based on client IP address (then again, nearly everyone is 192.168.x.x these days ;-(); could be based on some user-settable flag, symlink, etc (though this seems tiresome); could interact with any of several tools for switching environment, especially on older Windows systems.
