Gstein and sussman both very much like the fact that 'svn revert' is 100% non-network. When it encounters a missing dir, it simply sends an 'unrevertible' notification to the client, which then recommends updating. However, someday 'svn revert' -should- be able to grab directories off the network, if the user passes a --force flag. This is also important if we ever allow working copies without text-bases. Note that kfogel doesn't like this design; he thinks 'svn revert' should hit the network whenever it needs to. But we're tabling this design discussion till post-1.0.
