        Hi All,

        After installing the VMWare Tools on the cartridge image & subscribing to it through Manager now I am getting following error message running continuously:-

        TID: [0] [STRATOS] [2014-04-12 08:30:52,789] WARN

        {jclouds.compute} - Error checking reachability of ip:port 6.6.6.101:22 {jclouds.compute}

        at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:744)

        Also, on the VM cartridge I have to manually select the option from the grub boot menu to get the login prompt (This doesn’t happens when I launch the vApp Template directly from vCloud Director)
        Once I login I can see the IP Address is assigned but customization script still not passing the payload information to the cartridge VM.

        Has anyone ever encountered this error & can suggest anything on this??

        Regards
        Manas…

        I raised this jira because I was getting following error:--

        "NullPointerException on node https://10.105.91.240/api/vApp/vapp-8cb22765-ee01-425f-916c-04e6654a55df:
        java.lang.NullPointerException: no credential found for root on node https://10.105.91.240/api/vApp/vapp-8cb22765-ee01-425f-916c-04e6654a55df"

        The above error was due to unavailability of VMware Tools on the cartridge image (Stratos Cartridge preparation document for vCloud never talks about such pre-requisite).

        After installing VMware tools I land up on another blocker & started getting forllowing error:

        "TID: [0] [STRATOS] [2014-04-12 09:23:28,875] DEBUG

        {jclouds.compute} - >> blocking on sockets [6.6.6.101:22] for 600000 MILLISECONDS {jclouds.compute}

        TID: [0] [STRATOS] [2014-04-12 09:23:28,879] WARN

        {jclouds.compute} - Error checking reachability of ip:port 6.6.6.101:22 {jclouds.compute}

        "

        This error was because of the Java version (jdk7u51) installed on Stratos Manager. After downgrading the java to jdk7u21 payload is getting pushed into the Cartridge VM using the customization script.

        Customization script is now pushing the payload into cartridge VM on vCloud.

        Note: VMware tools must be installed on the cartridge-image.

        Hi Manas,

        Thanks for looking in to this issue.

        When we tested vCloud on Stratogen, the images we got from the public catalog already had VMware tools installed. So, that's why we missed the steps. We will add a note to vCloud wiki saying that VMware tools must be installed in the image.

        I don't understand the relation with JDK version. I tested on JDK 7u51.

        Anyway, I'm glad that you could resolve the issue.
