What exactly do you mean by "unable to view the full list" in your description? I look at the screenshot you provided and I don't see a problem.

I've seen this before, especially on IE but also on other browsers. On the left side you can't click on "schema browser" which is below "replication", and this latter partially cut off. And you can't scroll that part of the screen so especially with some combinations of remote viewing, Webex, projecting your desktop on a shared screen (and the screen resolution is changed) and the like, some parts of the screen become inaccessible.

Now that Erick has cleared up what I couldn't figure out, I do see the problem. It's also a problem on 4.6.1 and 4.2.1, the other versions that I have available for quick trial. I never noticed this because I've always got a high resolution display and my browser takes up most of the screen area. This is a problem for people who are using ultra-light laptops that rarely have much in the way of vertical resolution.

One workaround is the zoom feature in the browser, which can usually be accessed by holding down the ctrl key and turning the zoom wheel on the mouse. Ctrl-0 (zero) will reset to normal on both IE and Firefox.

If you do happen to be on a laptop with a touchpad, most modern touchpads can emulate the scroll wheel with the right edge of the touchpad. Or you can access the browser's menu and change the zoom level there.

I'm aware that as workarounds go, this is not a very good one, but it should work.

I've updated the issue title, it's not a windows-specific problem.

attached a first version of the patch, which uses an additional class to switch between different 'modes'. one (still) fixed, if the viewport is big enough, the other scrollable, in case you can't see the menu all at once. it's checked when the page loads, the menu changes and when you resize your browser window.
