    Description

      Implement the Gnomonic projection, where geodesics are straight lines. Formulas for the sphere are given in Snyder. Formulas for the ellipsoid are impossible, but Charles F. F. Karney in Algorithms for geodesics (SRI International) gives a form where straight lines are very close to geodesics.
