Description

Turns out malformed HMS database is pretty common phenomenon and MetastoreCacheInitializer.java is not really helpful in figuring out what's wrong. The result is failure in initializing MetastorePlugin.

Adding simple stuff, like testing for returned null objects as opposed to waiting till dereferencing them produces NullPointerException would go a long way in making life easier.
