Description
Sending trackbacks is a very good way to join a cross-blog conversation and get links back to your blog, but it's difficult to figure out how to send a trackback. We can make it easier. Some blog servers send trackbacks automatically and Roller should be able to do the same. Here's how it could work:
- Blogger creates a blog entry
- Blogger hits publish button to publish blog entry
- Roller parses the blog entry looking for links
- For each link found:
- Roller parses page that is linked to
- If page has trackback autodiscovery, then Roller sends trackback to the page's trackback URL
Isses:
- What about entries that are posted to the future?
- Do we need a trackbackout table to keep track of sent and pending trackbacks?
