Incorrect positioning of images/controls due to incompatible CSS for IE 7

      Description

      IE 7 Standards mode does not render the gadget chrome correctly resulting in images in the wrong place and an overall low-quality version of the rave portal

        Discussion: which are the (minimum) browser versions we want to fully support (it doesn't mean the portal is broken in previous versions but it may look different)

        Unfortunately there are a lot of IE7's still out there. In addition to direct requirements from the mailing list, it may help to use analytics to measure browser types.

        According to http://gs.statcounter.com/#browser_version-ww-monthly-201012-201112 IE7 usage was 4% worldwide in December 2011.

        A lot of companies run in compatibility mode for ie7. That's actually how I found it. My windows machine has ie9 but the company has compatibility mode turned on by default.
