I suspect that the idea in the JIRA's title was superseded by the Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP) JMS Mapping Version 1.0 WD 9, 7.3 Unsubscribe. Closing as Invalid.

Is there is anything to actually do here? The old JMS client tweaked the linked durability and expiry while unsubscribing, but since then we've taken to simply reattaching and then closing the link.
