Description

Using SSL in the messenger tests provides better test coverage of the SSL layer w/o having to duplicate data transfer tests specifically for SSL.

However, SSL is optional, and may not be available on all systems. So running SSL "under" the messenger unit test should be configurable (environment var? etc).
