Description
A suitable name search is required for Apache Myriad to graduate. Since we have just been accepted into the Incubator, we would like to get the name approved before requesting more resources.
Apache Myriad enables co-existence of Apache Hadoop YARN and Apache Mesos together on the same cluster and allows dynamic resource allocations across both Hadoop and other applications running on the same physical data center infrastructure.
Myriad means a) Constituting a very large, indefinite number; innumerable or b) Composed of numerous diverse elements or facets.
The name Myriad was chosen because the project integrates two diverse cluster resource managers, enabling easier management of very large clusters. It's also convenient that the first two letters 'M' and 'Y' match the two projects being integrated, Mesos and YARN.
