Hundreds of repositories, but only two that seem to be of any significance. We are the second hit, but https://github.com/facebook/augmented-traffic-control is the first. The Facebook project is very different than ours. It has nothing to do with CDNs.

      https://github.com/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=trafficcontrol&type=Repositories&ref=searchresults

Tens of results. Most seem to do with things other than CDNs.

      https://sourceforge.net/directory/os:linux/?q=traffic+control

Lots of results (100+) but nothing popular looking or to do with CDNs

      https://sourceforge.net/directory/os:linux/?q=trafficcontrol

1 result for a front end to tc (traffic control) in linux which is for network traffic.

More of the same. There is a mix of things that manipulate Linux tc, things for traffic lights, and air traffic control games.

Yes, that's a lot. There are none with the same name though. This tends to get a lot of hits wherever I look for it because the name is two generic words put together, but there has yet to be one thing that does the same thing as our project with the same name.

I really have no insight into these. One is Dutch and one is Polish. They seem very vague.

      https://www.google.com/search?q=traffic+control+software

More auto traffic software and some air traffic control stuff. Ours comes up as the first computer related entry, though google probably did that for me for relevance.

      http://www.bing.com/search?q=traffic+control+software

      Similar for Bing.

The two things that I think are relevant that need to be given heavy consideration are "Augmented Traffic Control" from Facebook and "Traffic Control" product from Cloudflare.

      http://facebook.github.io/augmented-traffic-control/

      https://www.cloudflare.com/traffic-control/

Both are network rate limiting tools. One is actually a simulator. But Augmented Traffic Control will have the same acronym as Apache Traffic Control and the Cloudflare product is CDN related on some level. Also, the Cloudflare product is *very* new.

    Description

Apache Traffic Control (incubating) allows you to build a large scale content delivery network using open source. Built around Apache Traffic Server as the caching software, Traffic Control implements all the core functions of a modern CDN.
