      Description

      TODO list:

      • add a pack200 version of Pivot jars, for smaller/faster downloads ... and stripping out debug info, for reducing them so much
        • for unsigned (standard) and for signed jars
      • enable jnlp links, to re-enable execution via Java Web Start ... this is already tracked by a specific issue
      • etc ...

Note that this ticket is not related to a specific release because should be repeated at any new release ...

If someone has some other ideas ...

Ok, adding the .htaccess file resolved the issue.
Note that I have to verify if even pack200 jars are handled in the right way now (or if something has to be put even for them in the .htaccess file).

JNLP links have been added, but they are not served with the right mime type.

I think we should add an .htaccess file for properly set up this in the Apache web server (if it will be used, depending on its main configuration).

Generated pack200 jars (both unsigned and signed), and put in the lib folder of the web site, in svn.

          For example see here: http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/pivot/site/trunk/www/lib/

Verify if (to avoid wasting space in svn, bandwith and time in upload, etc) it's enough to put them in the deploy/lib instead of putting them in the www/lib and run ant update site task (to copy them, and of course to udpate the rest of web site).

From now, this should be done after any release.

Piotr give us some hint here:

And yes, maybe that (at least for our web site), could be better to deploy even applets with some jnlp stuff ...
