When a border's thickness is set to a non-default value, odd artifacts appear in the upper corners. It appears to be due to a Java2D issue with drawRoundedRect(), but this requires further investigation.

This issue was resolved by calling drawRect() instead of drawRoundRect() when the corner radius is 0. The bug has been reported to Sun.
