The work I am doing on the dependencies has received very little attention or feedback.

Should I spend any more time on this effort? Am I tackling something that is too big?

          Many thanks,

          Chris

Chris, the work that you are doing is well received - sorry for not commenting more on it. I'd very much like to see this all go thru and your dependency checking is a great start. Please keep up the great work on this front.

          Hi Chris,

Remember the community has not the same planning than you. We have all our priorities, and responsibilities. For instance, I know you are waiting feedbacks on the content component but I had not even the time to look at it seriously.

This is IMO a long effort, be patient sometimes it takes more time than you would have thought when beginning but finally things happen, else OFBiz would not be in the state it is today. The work you have done is not lost, if you feel you have some other priorities at the moment, please feel free to get back to them. Hopefully someone will pick your work in its current state, else you may come back to it later. Working with a community, is all about organisation. If you have the time to do something, try to let the community know as much as possible about the work you did (as you have done in this case) and if you don't have the time to get back to it, or get someother prioirities, surprinsingly sometimes, even much later, someone will fullfil your wish, yes this happens!

When you are ahead on a subject you may try to organize the work some others would pick later. I think you did a good job on the task at hand regarding this aspect, and I personnaly thank you for that!

You see on OFBIZ-3505, you have shared your ideas with Bruno who has already spent also some time on this in the past, this will be certainly helpfull, but not necessarily this week...

Added initial prototype script for checking dependencies.

Copy to $OFBIZ_HOME and run with

          groovy dependencyCheck.groovy

          Still much to be done!
