Major Description
There's a few places in the CompositeNodeStore that tries to support the case in which the partial node stores are writeable (even though the javadocs clearly states that this case is not supported). This introduced extra complexity. The composite node store should check if the partial node stores are mounted as read only in the constructor and work on this assumption later on.
