ConsumeKafka and ConsumeKafka_0_10 can block indefinitely if unable to communicate with Kafka broker that is SSL enabled

    Description

      If I use ConsumeKafka and point to a broker that is in a bad state, I see ConsumeKafka block indefinitely.
