Description

There is currently an issue with getHostname in certain versions of the JDK in the Travis-CI environment. A more exhaustive discussion of the currently open issue can be found at: https://github.com/travis-ci/travis-ci/issues/5227

We should look to provide something similar to aid in stability of our Travis CI build and to gain greater utility.
