Description

Duplicative features should be removed as highlighted in the NiFi 2.0 Release Goals.

Removal should include eliminating support for XML Templates and Variable Registry features.

Separate tasks should be created for removing support for flow.xml.gz as the fallback flow configuration in absence of flow.json.gz.

Individual feature removal efforts should be tracked separately in logical groups to encourage sufficient review.
