Description

Hello,

I'm not sure, but this problem only occurred with the current version of NetBeans (12.4).

Recently, the Checking for external changes task often runs and doesn't want to be completed. I always have to cancel it manually, because it runs for half an hour without a result.

Yesterday, it even happened to me that I had to close the program because it was not even possible to cancel it manually.

Please repair.
