given this app.config <log4net configSource="config\active\log4net.config"/>

I get this from internal debug:

log4net: configuring repository [log4net-default-repository] using file [XXXXXX\config\activelog4net.config]
log4net: config file [XXXXXX\config\activelog4net.config] not found. Configuration unchanged.

the path

XXXXXX\config\activelog4net.config

should have been

XXXXXX\config\active\log4net.config

for some reason last slash is mising
