      Description

It would be nice to be able roll files with a date pattern and not just an index while still being able to specify the max file size and number of copies to keep. Alternatively it would be good to be able to us the DailyRollingFileAppender with a max copies to keep parameter

While Log4j 2 includes support for this I still want to add an additional parameter to allow the file to roll on an interval. For example, if the time format is in hours and the interval is 4 then the file should roll at 04:00, 08:00, 12:00, 16:00, 20:00 and midnight.
