More generically, every artifact not of type jar ends up on the list of jars OpenJPA and AspectJ should consider for instrumentation while executing tests. AspectJ correctly identifies the cobertura-runtime.pom as not being a jar and discards it, while OpenJPA aborts its instrumentation quite fatally (refusing to load all the remaining classes) and causes CNFEs all around.
