    Description

      Currently we have a bunch of conventions around where different parts of a Schema object are needed. For example, when the client uses the schema, it shouldn't use column IDs. When scanning, there's no need to specify encodings, etc. We should change around the APIs to make it a little simpler to specify which parts of the schema should be serialized or parsed.
