        Attached you find an updated version of the JDOQL BNF. It includes a new subsection describing subqueries:

        Subquery:

        SubquerySelect:
        select SubqueryResultClause

        SubqueryResultClause:
        distinctopt Expression (,opt)

        SubqueryFrom:
        from CandidateClassName Alias(opt) ExcludeClause(opt)
        from FieldAccess Alias(opt)

        Alias:
        as(opt) Identifier
