unable to commit large files to dist.apache.org/repos/dist/release/ctakes

    Details

      Description

I was able to commit small files (KEYS and *.asc for example) to dist.apache.org/repos/dist/release/ctakes

But I am getting 413 'Request Entity Too Large' on the .gz and .zip archives (for the source artifacts, not just the convenience binaries)
None of the artifacts are over 1GB.

Is there a limit to the file size that can checked into dist.apache.org/repos/dist/release/ctakes

If so, can that limit be increased to, say, 600MB (we currently need a little over 400MB)
If not, what alternative method do you recommend?

This is holding up our first release as a TLP.

      Details:
      $ svn commit apache*src.zip -m "apache ctakes 3.1.0 rc3 released as 3.1.0" --username james-masanz

      Thanks

          Gavin,
I remember I was able to commit while we were in incubator: https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/incubator/ctakes/
Are the size limits set on individual projects? svn commit to https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/ctakes/ seems to fail after 33MB or so...

          Hi Gav,
I just tried the above into the dev staging repo, but after ~33MB, I get a similar message (I tried twice; second time with just a single file at a time):
          Any ideas?

try uploading via svn to https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/ctakes/ -- that is your primary location for staging release tags / release candidates etc, once approved by your PMC you can then svn mv from /dev/ to /release/

so, I assume the vote has passed and you want to release, but for the sake of trying, please upload to /dev/ and move to release from there.

difference is that /dev/ I believe has higher upload limit and does not get published to mirrors, whereas /release/ goes out to the mirroring system (but a lower upload limit I think, will check on that)

If we have /www/www.apache.org/dist/ctakes, I presume we can manually just copy the artifacts there? but it doesn't seem to exist..
