      Description

      The requirements are as follows:

OS: Debian 7 wheezy x64 preferred, or Ubuntu x64 12.04 LTS if not
      RAM: 1 GB memory
      Disk: 50 GB
CPU average, multicore preferable but not required.

tcp ports: http, https, ssh, 5984, 6984.
      udp ports: 60000 - 61000.

ssh keys: use those in ldap for following asf ids: wohali, janl, kocolosk, dch.

One of couchdb's unique features are the ability to host an entire web application within couchdb itself, and to be able to replicate those apps, such as our admin user interface, directly from a couchdb instance. Today there is no trusted and secure site for doing this. This VM will provide trusted and secure replication endpoint under the apache banner.

<danielsh> So, essentially, the VM would act as a distribution point for end-user downloads?

[~danielsh] yup, and I'd expect we'd make use of it in testing inter-couchdb operability too - which we can't do today.

*bump* I'd love to have this in place soon, we are releasing couchdb with plugin support and this trusted component is going to be increasingly important. Anything I can do to assist?

Vm is created and secured (ldap puppet etc).

        dns: couchdb-vm.a.o

At the moment root@ and I have access. Please catch a root@ person on #asfnfra, or mail root@a.o o with apacheid to get access. ssh keys have been copied to vm.

The project is expected to maintain the vm and keep it updated with patches. If needed infra can help with this task.

In case of questions/problems do not hesitate to contact us.

        Have fun
