      Description

      On our downloads page:
      http://incubator.apache.org/ctakes/downloads.html
we are trying to get the mirror selection to work. It won't modify the links with a selected mirror location like we see on other projects.
Can you help get this to work? Currently we are still in release candidate mode, but would like the page functional at the time we release the first Apache version of cTAKES.

        I don't see the downloads.cgi ; compare with:

        /www/httpd.apache.org/content/download.html
        /www/httpd.apache.org/content/download.cgi

The "download.cgi" program expands the "download.html" template.
        Just copy it to "correct-location/downloads.cgi".

        Then use http://incubator.apache.org/ctakes/downloads.cgi

Also, use 'preferred' instead of "Preferred" etc.

        Regards,

        HPP

Thank you for letting me know the proper method. I did not find any documentation around so I had looked at other projects and attempted wht you said. I got error about authorization once everything was in place. How do I avoid that?

        >Just copy it to "correct-location/downloads.cgi".
What is "correct-location"? I tried this:
        https://cms.apache.org/ctakes/wc/browse/bleeker-5PtQ9d/trunk/cgi-bin/downloads.cgi
As you can see that file is already there.

        Our page has this:
        <form action="/downloads.cgi" method="get" id="SelectMirror">
        Other mirrors: <select name="Preferred">
Can the action be changed to match where the file currently is?

        >What is "correct-location"?

        If your template is in

        /some/path/downloads.html

then the .cgi should be in

        /some/path/downloads.cgi

        So, in your case :

        /www/incubator.apache.org/content/ctakes/downloads.cgi

We don't have downloads.html. We are using downloads.mdtext.

I'm surprised as .mdtext files can have embedded html. Matter of fact the initial URL I posted is build by Apache from the downloads.mdtext. Do I wait for someone else to respond to this issue?

<danielsh> http://incubator.apache.org/celix/download.cgi works (including mirror selection) so there's no work for infra to do here. Rather you have a usage question. Please ask on general@ or infra@ or celix-*@, not via the bugtracker. Thanks.
