      Description

Currently there are no on-site or off-site backup of translate-vm. Offsite backup of mysql is highly needed, and /home/* (or at least jsc) is adviced, because it contains the synchronised copy of po files.

WTF are we using /home/* for anything related to services. We do not backup home folders anywhere, other than on minotaur.

Can I please suggest this is moved elsewhere.

As for mysql, we can make this happen. Sure.

It can for sure be moved somewhere else, once the system is upgraded. In the meantime it would be nice to have a backup of the rest.

Please be aware the structure of the vm is undergoing a change.

And please do not only make it happen for mysql, but for the dynamic parts of the vm as well, or learn me how to send backup to the backup server, then I can do it as part of the upgrade.

We have now eliminated to need for home dir. backup. /x1/aoo_workdir is a common workdir for aoo work.

If wanted, then I can implement the same mysql dump we run on wiki2 (generate 1 dump file every day to a backup dir, and assume the backup program removes day-2 files).
